The Hour Glass holds a prominent position among retail establishments in the Asia-Pacific region, boasting over 40 boutiques, including three in Australia. They opened their doors in Singapore in 1979. In commemoration of their 40th anniversary, the brand is launching a series of exclusive limited edition timepieces in collaboration with some of their longstanding partners. Their series of special editions begins with a significant release – the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph For The Hour Glass, presented in platinum. The Royal Oak requires little introduction, and its selection is fitting, considering it has been in existence for only a few years longer than The Hour Glass itself. However, this platinum model draws inspiration from the 2008 chronograph variation. The standout feature of this timepiece is undeniably its dial, adorned with the renowned tapisserie pattern in the dual hues emblematic of The Hour Glass – yellow and green. This striking combination, particularly when set against the icy platinum case, creates an impressive aesthetic contrast.
