What makes this 1969 Rolex Ref. 1501 particularly special is its rare blue half-radial dial. Unlike the more commonly seen dial configurations, the elongated minute markers create a distinctive radial effect, giving the dial a much more dynamic appearance. These blue radial dials are seldom seen on the Ref. 1501 and were produced only in relatively small numbers, making surviving examples especially interesting to vintage Rolex collectors. Paired with the characteristic engine-turned bezel, the radial layout gives the watch a unique look and makes it appear larger on the wrist than its classic 34mm case would suggest. A rare and characterful variation of the 1501, and a great example of the unusual dial designs Rolex experimented with during this period.
