An exceptionally rare and previously unseen prototype gold leaf dial fitted to a 1975 Rolex Day-Date “President.” The Day-Date has long been regarded as the canvas for some of Rolex’s most distinctive and creative dial designs, and this example is a remarkable testament to that tradition. The dial was produced by Fluckiger & Fils, the renowned Swiss dial maker whose work has been associated with prestigious names such as Patek Philippe and Rolex. Created as a prototype and presented to Rolex, the design was never introduced into regular production. Only a very limited number of 18k gold leaf dials are known to exist, with none having been officially retailed through a Rolex jeweller. A truly exceptional and historically fascinating piece for the most discerning collectors.
